Michael James Gratton

Michael Gratton investigates reasoning and perception in artificial intelligence and robotics. His research interests include knowledge representation, machine perception, cognitive robotics, and cognitive science. He applies his theoretical work though human-robot interaction research, and by working with practising artists in the production of interactive robotic sculptural forms and installations.

As a research associate jointly situated at the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the Creative Robotics Lab, he is investigating the recognition, formal representation and reasoning of human emotions via touch for cognitive robotics.
